A must read editorial by a founder, from the April Wall Street Journal:
Sadly, Greenpeace has evolved into an organization of extremism and politically motivated agendas.
And, a little more from…um…Mr. Moore:
As Moore sees it, the composition of Greenpeace has changed dramatically since his heyday. He says the fall of communism brought an influx of anti-corporate extremism to the environmental movement because, “suddenly, the international peace movement had a lot less to do. Pro-Soviet groups in the West were discredited. Many of their members moved into the environmental movement, bringing with them their eco-Marxism and pro-Sandinista sentiments.
“A lot of those in the peace movement were anti-American and, to an extent, pro-Soviet. By virtue of their anti-Americanism, they tended to sometimes favor the communist approach. A lot of those people, a lot of those social activists, moved into the environmental movement once the peace movement was no longer relevant.” Social activists, he suggests, “are now using the rhetoric of environmentalism to promote other collectivist agendas, such as class struggle — which I personally believe is a legitimate area, but I don’t believe it’s legitimate to mix it up with environmentalism.”
Mr. Moore won’t be hosting the Rush Limbaugh show any time soon, but he most assuredly nails the current “environmentalist” movement as a bunch of bored Marxists.

Global Warming.
I told you YESTERDAY dammit, the answer would be global warming. But no…you didn’t believe me! You thought I was making it up. I warned you…that global warming would be the answer to every Jeopardy question in the future. But you weren’t listening.
More Americans are likely to suffer from kidney stones in the coming years as a result of global warming, according to researchers at the University of Texas. Kidney stones, which are formed from dissolved minerals in the urine and can be extremely painful, are often caused by dehydration, either by not drinking enough liquid or losing too much due to high heat conditions.
If global warming trends continue as projected by the UN Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change in 2007, the United States can expect as much as a 30 percent growth in kidney stone disease in some of its driest areas, said the findings published in Monday’s Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences.
Impressive!
Every single day, the MSM reports on Global Warming. Yes every day: day in and day out. The media ASSAULT is non-stop. So from now on….whatever illness, malaise, or misfortune you may have- blame it on Global Warming.
Hmmm….I think I’ll call in sick today. Thanks Al!

One day, very soon, Jeopardy will no longer be on television. And not because Alex Trebek passed away- mind you- but because the answer to EVERY Jeopardy clue will be: What is Global Warming. You can’t have a game show where every answer is the same. Uh….no…I’m not kidding.
A top Democrat told high school students gathered at the U.S. Capitol Thursday that climate change caused Hurricane Katrina and the conflict in Darfur, which led to the “black hawk down” battle between U.S. troops and Somali rebels.
Rep. Edward Markey (D-Mass.), chairman of the House (Select) Energy Independence and Global Warming Committee, also equated the drive for global warming legislation with the drive for women’s suffrage in the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
Absolutely astounding.
I use to think these oddball remarks were hilarious. But I’ve tracked them so many times and posted such a litany of these that I’ve come to realize how unbelievably stupid- people with IMPORTANT jobs are! And just -how out of hand- all of this is becoming.

I found an EXCELLENT Op-Ed in the Wall Street Journal. And its author did an outstanding job of bringing clarity to the Global Warming Hoax.
The real place where discussions of global warming belong is in the realm of belief, and particularly the motives for belief. I see three mutually compatible explanations.
The first is as a vehicle of ideological convenience. Socialism may have failed as an economic theory, but global warming alarmism, with its dire warnings about the consequences of industry and consumerism, is equally a rebuke to capitalism. Take just about any other discredited leftist nostrum of yore – population control, higher taxes, a vast new regulatory regime, global economic redistribution, an enhanced role for the United Nations – and global warming provides a justification. One wonders what the left would make of a scientific “consensus” warning that some looming environmental crisis could only be averted if every college-educated woman bore six children: Thumbs to “patriarchal” science; curtains to the species.
A second explanation is theological. Surely it is no accident that the principal catastrophe predicted by global warming alarmists is diluvian in nature. Surely it is not a coincidence that modern-day environmentalists are awfully biblical in their critique of the depredations of modern society: “And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.” That’s Genesis, but it sounds like Jim Hansen. And surely it is in keeping with this essentially religious outlook that the “solutions” chiefly offered to global warming involve radical changes to personal behavior, all of them with an ascetic, virtue-centric bent: drive less, buy less, walk lightly upon the earth and so on. A light carbon footprint has become the 21st-century equivalent of sexual abstinence.
Is that rich or what? That was a cackle!
Finally, there is a psychological explanation. Listen carefully to the global warming alarmists, and the main theme that emerges is that what the developed world needs is a large dose of penance. What’s remarkable is the extent to which penance sells among a mostly secular audience. What is there to be penitent about?

Two Hundred Thirteen THOUSAND Kilowatts…that’s how much. Yes…the Goracle of Delphi...is consuming even more energy this year than last!
In the year since Al Gore took steps to make his home more energy-efficient, the former Vice President’s home energy use surged more than 10%, according to the Tennessee Center for Policy Research. “A man’s commitment to his beliefs is best measured by what he does behind the closed doors of his own home,” said Drew Johnson, President of the Tennessee Center for Policy Research. “Al Gore is a hypocrite and a fraud when it comes to his commitment to the environment, judging by his home energy consumption.”
In the past year, Gore’s home burned through 213,210 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity, enough to power 232 average American households for a month.
IMPRESSIVE. His appetite for electricity almost matches his appetite for food. 232 Houses a month? A couple more and you have…. a COMMUNITY.

It has happened again. My God…what will become of us all. Heavens to Chardonnay…it truly is: The Grapes of Wrath.
The worst spring cold snap in more than 30 years is threatening to wreak havoc on the wine industry as three recent days of frost have killed grapevine buds up and down the crucial North Coast vineyard region.
So far, grape growers estimate that as much as 10 percent of their crops could be lost, an unusual occurrence in an industry that hasn’t seen a significant spring frost since the early 1970s.
If the earth continues to heat up this fast…I won’t be able to buy a domestic bottle of Cabernet for another 30 years.
The most damage to vines took place March 31 and last Saturday and Sunday, when temperatures dipped below the freezing point of 32 degrees to as low as 27 degrees throughout the region.
Hey…I’m saving energy!…I won’t have to refrigerate the Chenin Blanc.

Okay class, let’s see how you do. Wait. Those of you who blurted out Global Warming as the answer BEFORE being asked who’s fault it was….
Damn…you’re good.
I am so proud of you- you’ve caught on quick! For the rest of you slow learners, whenever someone is looking to blame- point fingers at….find fault with…or place responsibility on- the answer is ALWAYS Global Warming. Here, let me give you an example….
Who will be responsible for the next World War? No…silly…not North Korea…not Iran…and for you liberals who said George Bush- no….you should have said….Global Warming.
Climate change could cause global conflicts as large as the two world wars but lasting for centuries unless the problem is controlled, a leading defense think tank has warned.
Heck…I’m just WARMING up. How about….drowning Polar Bears? Genocide in Darfur? California Fires? Bad Investments? Bottled Water? Speeding Tickets?
Had enough?
So from now on….when the CBS Evening News comes on….and Katie Couric brings you news of famine, pestilence, riots, stock market crashes, home invasions, interest rate hikes, housing foreclosures, homicides…..blown tires at the Indy 500…or even a heartwarming story about how Johnny misplayed a fly ball in centerfield during his Little League Game….Who’s fault was it?
Yes. It was, and will be: Global Warming.

Glad I don’t live in LA. And I’ve been thanking God these last 9 months. The Gore-bal Warming mantra….the Gore-bal Warming SICKNESS…yes this deadly green virus has now infected the City of Los Angeles (if not all of California).
Los Angeles considers global warming tax
To fight global warming, a bill in Sacramento would enable Los Angeles County transit officials to increase taxes on motorists.
Billed as a “climate change mitigation and adaptation fee,” the measure would cost motorists either an additional 3 percent motor fuel tax, or up to a $90 annual flat fee, based on vehicle emissions. The new charges would be on top of taxes already paid at the pump. Either option requires a majority approval by a vote of the people.
I wish I were kidding.
This is how incredibly ASININE this scam has become. From drowning polar bears to a 15 foot rise in the oceans, I can not FOR THE LIFE OF ME understand why anybody is buying into this liberal pile of earth-friendly compost.
Liberals….can’t live with them. Can’t shoot ‘em.

In conjunction with my ongoing mini-series- Al Gore: My Life As a Green Teletubby- apparently, Global Warming has slammed yet another region. This time it’s Maine.
It’s official. The 2007-08 snow season in northern Maine is one for the record books. Just in time for the start of spring. The old record of 181.1 inches of snow recorded in Caribou, set in 1955, was shattered by noontime Friday when the National Weather Service in Caribou recorded 182.5 inches of snow since the start of the season. If it’s not Maine, it’s Minnesota….or South America…or China….(oh heck..let’s stop quibbling)…. THE EARTH!

Evidently, Southern Baptists now feel MORALLY responsible to combat ‘Global Warming’. My responsibility, of course, is to inform you- that they are now responsible. But, I too feel MORALLY RESPONSIBLE to tell you ….they’re full of carbon dioxide.
Several prominent leaders in the Southern Baptist Convention said Monday that Baptists have a moral responsibility to combat climate change — a major shift within a denomination that just last year cast doubt on human responsibility for global warming.
Each day I try and be as moral as I can….but I can assure you, I have no intention of assigning MORALITY to Gore-bal Warming. And by the way….now that they’ve deemed this a ‘moral responsibility’….is this equal to other Christian morals (eg. 10 Commandments)?
Hmmm….I guess the Baptists are looking for a new set of commandments.
1. Thou shall not drive gas guzzling SUVs, trucks, or large vehicles that hold more than 4 people.
2. Thou shall not fly in airplanes (One exception: Virgin Atlantic)
3. Thou shall not eat beans. (lima, string, kidney, garbanzo, fava, soy, black)
4. Thou shall not raise cows. (i.e. Jersey)
5. Thou shall not burn leaves or anything outdoors for that matter. (burning brain cells -okay)
6. Thou shall not leave the lights on in your house. (Unless you have latch-key kids)
7. Thou shall not work in a factory or manufacture anything. (Remove all tools from your garage)
8. Thou shall not drive fast- ever. (This includes men driving pregnant wives to the hospital.)
9. Thou shall not have pets defecate outside. (Humane society is grandfathered in)
10. Thou shall not eat red meat. (All animals are flatulent, therefore vegetarians AND vegans get in heaven first)
Uh…sorry Reverends.
Time for me to clock out from my job at U.S. Steel and get in my Humvee and drive as fast as I can to the Outback Steakhouse. (I love a medium rare Ribeye and lentil soup.)
